The Donald and Carol Kress Pavilion is a library community center located in the Village of Egg Harbor, WI. Opened in 2018, Kress Pavilion offers events space for 10 to 500 guests, corporate team building events, nonprofit fundraisers, and hands on workshops in conjunction with Door County Library. The Kress Pavilion is owned by the Village of Egg Harbor and the facility is used heavily as part of the Village’s comprehensive wellness plan. The Village prides itself in providing free and paid public programming to the community.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The EVENT AND MARKETING ASSISTANT reports to the Property Manager & Events Director. The position supports management in all aspects of sales and event planning, and marketing. Responsibilities include direct support and assistance to the Property Manager & Events Director. This position manages client relationships, assists with social media efforts, and performs administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketing: Assist Event Director with creation of event calendars, marketing materials and promotional items efforts to further event registration and private event sales. Additionally, this position helps to manage post event surveys, Kress Pavilion website and email marketing.
  • Planning and Production: Provide project support within the private event sales avenue, by participating in client meetings, hosting venue walk throughs and acting as the point of contact to execute on the day of events. This position involves room set up and transition.
  • Future Planning: Research, develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives that further the Kress Pavilion’s offerings and brand.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Work Habits: Self-motivated, with high capacity to multi-task and work quickly, either independently or with a team. You are deadline driven and ultra-punctual. You have excellent critical thinking skills, and understand daily, shifting priorities and how to manage a busy schedule, completing tasks on time.

Passionate: Exceptionally passionate about the marketing and event industry.

Communication: You use excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, direct supervisors and multiple levels of staff.

Marketing: Knowledge of social media marketing, promotional material design, with indesign experience a plus.

Client interface: Your customer service is exemplary. You maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Grace Under Pressure: You are at ease in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment. You adjust quickly to changing priorities with a positive can-do attitude. This position is not a stranger to light janitorial or table set up.

Computer Skills: Computer proficient in MS office products (Word, Excel). Adobe products a plus!

REQUIREMENTS:

2 plus years in the hospitality world, with a desire to learn more in the pursuit of a career in events and marketing. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and not shy away from light janitorial, In possession of a valid driver’s license.

 

COMPENSATION:
This is a seasonal, part time position that works 80 hours a month, May-June, August, September and 90 hours in July. This position will have some office time, but much of their work is nights and weekends. However, a schedule will be determined on a monthly basis.
