 Thank you for taking an interest in DC Docks and Boat Lifts.  You will be responsible for the care, maintenance, installation and removal of; docks, piers, boat lifts, track systems, and shoreline work, for our valued customers. 

Some work is done in and around our shop. The majority of our work is completed on and in the water.  You will be outside with frequent exposure to sunshine and rainbows, heat, cold, snow, ice, wind, bugs.  Many days are a nice day on the waterfront. Some days are a cold day on the waterfront.

During the spring rush, install season, work day starts at 7am and the end times change depending on location, but 5-6pm is typical.  Summer and fall are a bit more casual pace.

We generally start the morning at the home office, then go out to customer’s waterfront and work, returning to the home office at the end of the day.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  • Work outside in and on the water, tolerant of warm and cold working conditions.
  • Ability to work in Waders and Wetsuit (provided).
  • Valid Driver’s License. (If you are experienced, you can apply as a Helper, with no license).
  • Pass a DOT drug screen test.
  • Capable and Experienced using hand tools, capable of organizing tools when finished.
  • Capable of heavy lifting (over 80 pounds).
  • Moving docks and lifts in and out the water.
  • Must be able to swim.
  • Maintain, organize, and store company equipment and tools properly.
  • Work together with other employees to organize and complete dock jobs.
  • A pleasant attitude with fellow workers and customers.

Extra Pay Skills:

  • CDL License
  • Aluminum Welding (and steel). Not a regular daily function, but we do have welding needs.

 Helpful Skills (but not necessary)

  • ATV Driving Experience
  • Boat Driving Experience – Do you have a boater’s safety license?
  • Knuckle Boom Operating Experience
  • Pile Driving Experience

Working Days:

Generally, Monday to Friday.  Some days are too windy or rough to work on the water.  During spring install season, we may skip working a weekday and work Saturday, due to wind or weather.
