The position performs a variety of functions related to highway operations and maintenance including patching pavement, crack filling, removing debris, brushing, litter pick up, operating mowing equipment, routine mechanical maintenance on mowing equipment, traffic control, lawn care, cleaning shop and equipment and other routine labor work. Regular attendance and punctuality along with being prepared to commence work at designated work locations, on the assigned or scheduled days and hours is expected.
Typical work schedule is four ten (10) hour days, Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This seasonal position, under the direction of the Highway Commissioner, reports during the Construction Season and dates will vary.
Applicants will have to successfully pass a functional capacity test and
have a valid driver license before they are eligible for hire.
