House Manager Assistant

Position Description


A Northern Sky House Manager Assistant will work closely with and aide the House Manager during the run of the show. House Manager Assistant supports the duties of the House Manager and will be called on to do other assignments.  


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Help prepare the theatre for opening.
  • Assist in the closing of the space after the event has ended and the audience has left.
  • Be comfortable with interpersonal communication with patrons.
  • Aid in any ticket issue that may come up.
  • Sanitizing common areas.
  • Understanding of Northern Sky’s policies.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with a wide age-range of seasonal house staff employees and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, disability and gender diversity of guests, staff and volunteers attending, and servicing, Northern Sky events.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to, and appreciation of Northern Sky’s company and service missions.
  • Knowledge of location and use of some emergency equipment, and knowledge of emergency communication procedures. 
  • Attend all meetings pertaining to the front of house responsibilities. 
  • Maintain necessary inventory on patron service equipment and supplies when directed.
  • Help to maintain necessary concession inventory and supplies. 
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance.
  • Comfortable with two-way radios.
  • Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Willingness to be certified in CPR, AED and basic first aid

  • Number of hours to be worked per week: Up to 35 (Part Time, Seasonal, Varies)
  • Shift Schedule: Day, Evening, Night
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

  • Ability to read small print as on tickets.
  • Ability to climb steps repeatedly.
  • Ability to descend/ascend ramps and inclines/declines.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy environment with environmental conditions such as noise, heights, dark/dim/absence of lighting.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach and kneel without restriction.

Frequently walking, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
