Established in 2018, we’re focused on producing uniquely craft spirits, made from hyper-local ingredients like Door County grains & botanicals, and even honey harvested from our own beehives.  As we take steps to move our business to the next level, we’re looking to bring on someone with a passion for lifelong learning, a desire to make their mark on a growing business, and who is just the right amount of weird. We work hard, don’t take shortcuts, but believe in having a little bit of fun along the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the flow of service in the tasting room, and ensure we’re maintaining the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and hospitality for our guests
  • Help build and lead a team of hourly crew members by actively participating in their recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Work to maintain the facility and all equipment to the highest standards, and lead crew members in doing the same.
  • Complete operational functions such as taking inventory and helping to maintain par levels of tasting room supplies
  • Conduct guided tastings with guests to educate them on our products and the distillation process
  • Keep retail shelves stocked to appropriate levels for all spirits and merchandise
  • Resolve conflicts with guests or between staff when possible, or apprise upper management and ownership of higher level situations
  • Participate in strategic discussions with management and ownership to elevate tasting room operations, as well as the Hatch brand as a whole
  • Maintain Health Code standards for inventory and equipment
  • Conduct basic cash accounting and balancing of drawers before shifts

Goals and Measures of Success

  • Help build and maintain a staff of hourly employees that are knowledgeable, empathetic, and feel invested in the success of Hatch
  • Reach revenue targets and monthly targets for bottle sales
  • Maintain (or decrease) labor costs as a percentage of daily sales
  • Continue to build the Hatch brand and our reputation locally, as well as regionally (measured through guest reviews and local PR)

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience leading teams in a customer service environment
  • Adaptability and creativity in problem solving
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Confidence, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to lift 30 - 40 pounds
  • Willingness to work most weekends
  • Passion for locally produced, craft spirits
  • Bartending / Craft Cocktail knowledge is a plus, but not required
