Lead Server at Island Orchard Cider

Summary

The lead server position at Island Orchard Cider is an hourly, full-time position from May to October with on-site housing available if needed. Housing is only available for full-time employees.

You will be the lead server, working 30-40 serving hours per week. Availability for weekends, holidays, and local events are a must. You will be responsible for assisting the manager with daily taproom operations as needed, including (but not limited to) merchandising, submitting reports, managing online orders, social media, and menu updates. A background in the service industry is a huge plus, especially in Door County.

Server duties and responsibilities

• Verify identity and age requirements of customers
• Knowledge of applicable alcohol laws and regulations
• Serve alcoholic beverages
• Process customer payments
• Clean glasses and bar equipment
• Make product suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
• Record credit card and cash sales
• Build a rapport with customers to create a positive atmosphere
• Develop working knowledge of ciders used to recommend and inform customers
• Stock and maintain products on shelves and displays
• Provide impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness
• Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing payments
• Performing daily opening and closing tasks

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• Complete and pass an online serving alcohol certification program
• Must be 21+
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for hours at a time
• Ability to multitask and work well with others, including a strong background in customer service
