Front Desk Staff

Door County Eye Associates is a busy optometry practice with a father/daughter doctor team. The office is adding a third optometrist and needs more support staff. We provide full-scope medical eye care and high-quality optical products and services. We are seeking a front office assistant with outstanding customer service and people skills, seeking long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, is able to multitask, detail-oriented and a positive attitude. Front desk staff members work with other staff and doctors to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. 

Primary Duties:

  • Ensure a positive patient experience 
  • Schedule and verify appointments for patients
  • Check patients in and out for appointments 
  • Assist patients with eye-related questions 
  • Answer phone calls and respond to texts from patients
  • Data entry into electronic health records 
  • Take payments for medical services, glasses and contacts  
  • Assist with checking and billing charts 
  • Open and close front office duties 

Physical Demands:

  • This position is performed in an office environment and requires periods of sitting or standing that may last one hour or longer, and should require approximately 50% sitting, 40% standing, and 10% walking
  • Physical requirements may include the need to occasionally lift up to twenty pounds
  • Occupational requirements for this position include the ability to see, hear, and speak clearly and distinctly as well as reasoning, reading, remembering, writing, and speaking

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday 
  • One hour lunch break Monday - Thursday (half day Friday)
  • No weekend or late-night hours!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma minimum, associates/bachelors degree preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive attitude are a must
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Team player 
  • Comfortable using computers 
  • Must be dependable and punctual 
  • Preferred but not required: background in healthcare, experience in office setting  

Full Time Benefits:
