Door County Eye Associates is a busy optometry practice with a father/daughter doctor team. We provide full-scope medical eye care and high-quality optical products and services. We are seeking an optometric assistant with outstanding customer service and people skills, seeking long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, is able to multitask, self-motivated and a positive attitude. 

Primary Duties:

  • Optometric assistant duties include:
    • Ensure a positive patient experience through professional interactions
    • Prepares patients for eye exams and performs pretesting for doctors  (VA, color vision, retinal photos) 
    • Performing additional testing for doctors (optos, OCT, visual fields)
    • Assisting front desk staff if there is time in between patients with checking charts, checking patients in and out, etc.

Hours:

  • The office is open Monday 8-6 and Tuesday-Friday 8-5. This position would have one half day during the week. 
  • One hour lunch break every day
  • No weekend or late-night hours!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma minimum
  • Strong customer service and communication skills 
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive attitude are a must
  • Team player 
  • Comfortable using computer and able to learn how to use new programs
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Preferred but not required: background in healthcare or office environment
