As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our team and elevate the guest experience.
Role Overview
As the Assistant Retail Store Manager at Island Lavender, you will support the daily operations of the store and help manage a team of associates. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service while maintaining an inviting, well-organized store environment. This position is perfect for a motivated and hands-on individual with retail leadership experience, a passion for lavender products, and a commitment to creating a welcoming experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Leadership & Team Management:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day store operations, ensuring efficient and smooth operation.
- Supervise and mentor retail associates, providing guidance and support to help them excel in their roles.
- Help with staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times and maintaining a high level of service.
- Conduct training for new team members, ensuring they understand product knowledge, customer service standards, and store procedures.
- Customer Service & Sales:
- Lead by example, offering excellent customer service, answering questions, and assisting customers in selecting the right products.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and any issues that may arise in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with product recommendations, upselling, and cross-selling to increase sales and enhance the shopping experience.
- Inventory Management & Merchandising:
- Help manage store inventory, including receiving and restocking products, tracking stock levels, and placing orders as needed.
- Ensure that all products are properly displayed and organized in an appealing way to drive sales.
- Assist in inventory audits and ensure that products are priced and labeled accurately.
- Operational Support:
- Assist the General Manager in implementing store policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the store meets operational goals.
- Help with cash handling, sales reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Support store opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Promotions & Events:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement seasonal promotions, sales events, and marketing strategies.
- Assist in the planning and execution of in-store events, workshops, or special occasions to enhance the customer experience.
Who You Are
- Experienced in Retail Management: Previous experience in a retail leadership role (such as assistant manager, supervisor, or team lead) is preferred.
- Customer-Focused: You have a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences and understand the importance of building relationships with visitors.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: You have strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
- Team Player & Leader: Comfortable leading a team, providing feedback, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Passionate About Nature & Lavender Products: A love for lavender and its many uses, as well as an interest in sustainable farming and agriculture, is a plus.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using retail management software, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
