Laundry Supervisor

1. Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on laundry equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
2. Operate laundry machinery as needed, particularly to train new staff or assist during peak periods.
3. Inform the Executive Housekeeper promptly of any operational issues or mechanical malfunctions requiring immediate attention.
4. Provide regular verbal and written updates to the Executive Housekeeper regarding the status and performance of laundry operations.
5. Monitor inventory levels and request supplies as needed to maintain uninterrupted departmental functionality.
6. Lead, train, and supervise laundry personnel to ensure effective workflow and consistently high-quality linen output.
7. Maintain open and ongoing communication with team members regarding productivity goals, shift expectations, and workload distribution.
8. Ensure all stained or damaged linens are appropriately treated or repaired, and either returned to circulation or recorded and removed from inventory.
9. Adhere to scheduled shifts, maintain punctuality, and provide timely notice for absences to support seamless departmental operations.
10. Keep the Executive Housekeeper informed of any notable issues, concerns, or unusual circumstances to facilitate proactive solutions.
11. Perform other duties as assigned to support the housekeeping department’s objectives.

Qualifications:

• No specific prerequisites required; previous supervisory or laundry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend, reach, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and stretch regularly throughout the shift.
• Must be able to stand and work on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly.
