Position Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to join our growing technical team. This position plays a vital role in supporting hardware diagnostics, repairs, assembly, and quality assurance in our in-house lab. You’ll work closely with our engineers and field teams to ensure devices, components, and systems are repaired, tested, and documented to the highest standards.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for technology, and an eye for detail.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose, repair, and refurbish desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices
• Perform component-level testing, soldering, and replacement of faulty parts
• Assemble and configure new systems for deployment to clients
• Run diagnostic software, stress tests, and benchmarking tools to validate repairs
• Maintain accurate documentation of test results, repairs, and service logs
• Track and manage inventory of lab tools, parts, and components
• Collaborate with Field Technicians, Engineers, and Project Managers to prepare equipment for on-site deployment
• Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and company standards
• Provide professional and courteous updates to internal teams and, when needed, directly to clients

 

Must-Have Qualifications
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in IT hardware repair or a related lab/technical role
• Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software issues
• Familiarity with PC components, operating systems, and diagnostic utilities
• Ability to work with small tools and perform precise component-level repairs (e.g., soldering)
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license (occasional field equipment support may be required)

 

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
• CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware certification
• OEM or manufacturer-specific training (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.)
• ESD handling certification
• Experience with imaging and deployment tools

 

Service Area
• Primarily lab-based role out of our Sturgeon Bay office
• Occasional travel to support technicians in Green Bay, Algoma, Washington Island, and surrounding areas

 

Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly wage: $18–$25/hr, based on experience and certifications
• Full-time: 40+ hours/week with potential for overtime
