Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Field / Low Voltage Technician to join our growing service team. This is a field-based role responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of low voltage systems for both commercial and residential clients. You’ll be part of a team delivering full-stack IT and connectivity solutions across Northeast Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems: Cat5e, Cat6, coax, and fiber optics
- Deploy and configure:
- IP surveillance cameras
- Access control systems
- Paging/intercom and fire alarm systems
- Networking and A/V equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, splice schematics, and floor plans
- Use test equipment to verify and certify copper and fiber connections
- Mount and configure network devices and automation hardware
- Maintain documentation of work completed, including test results and service logs
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Field Operations Managers, and other technicians
- Provide professional, courteous, and informed customer service while on-site
- Maintain and care for company tools, testing gear, vehicles, and trailers
- Keep a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
Must-Have Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience with structured cabling or low voltage systems
- Proficiency in copper and fiber termination and certification testing
- Ability to work aloft up to 50 feet (e.g., bucket truck, ladders, lifts)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently, manage time well, and adapt to dynamic job sites
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends as needed
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- BICSI Installer Level 1 or 2
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- Manufacturer-specific training (networking, fire/security systems, etc.)
Service Area
- Field coverage throughout Door, Brown, and Kewaunee Counties
- Based out of Sturgeon Bay office, with job sites in Green Bay, Algoma, Washington Island, and surrounding areas
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $20–$28/hr, based on experience and certifications
- Full-time: 40+ hours/week with potential for overtime
- Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for field work
