Description

The Banquet and Event Manager plans, directs and coordinates banquets and events.  Negotiates contracts, orders supplies, assits in the selection of menu items, conducts wedding tours and schedules banquet staff.  Responsible for day of duties with ceremonies, venue setup and receptions.  Communicates customer needs to the appropriate departments and facilitates weekly BEO meetings.  Develops and maintains banquet accounts by ensuring customers satisfaction before, during and after the event.  This is a year round position at a seasonal resort.  Salary range between $35,000 to $42,000 with opportunity for a bonus struction.  Salary and Bonus structure based on experience.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Luxury wedding experience
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proven wedding and banquet sales and service experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to execute "day of" responsibilities for weddings
  • Working knowledge of MS office, MS excel, and catering software (caterease)
  • Ability to lead BEO meetings and communicate event requirements to other departments
  • Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
  • A professional customer first attitiude 
  • Ability to establish best practices and training manuals for FOH event departments
  • Prepare reporting and documentation used for year and month end accounting
  • Abilty to lead and communicate clearly in high pressure situations
  • A detailed eye and proactive mindset
  • Ability to lift 50lb

 

Applicant should have a both passion and experience in weddings, events and banquets.  This is a year round position that requires 50-60 hours a week in season and 25 -35 hours a week in the off season
