The Director of Bar Management plays a vital role in delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences to guests while also running an efficient, profitable bar. The Bar Manager must observe and enforce all company policies, house rules and guiding principles; be able to work and communicate well with others; receive and provide direction to staff; maintain a positive attitude toward the work and company. The Bar Manager must observe company dress code and support the company culture, values, goals and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of all beverage items offered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.
  • Maintain beverage vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring proper inventory levels and inventory control while maintaining a budget
  • Maintaining product quality standards
  • Building a team - assist in hiring and onboarding bar staff
  • Scheduling, training, development and oversight of all bar staff
  • Beverage training to servers and server assistants
  • Observing and enforcing company standard operating procedures
  • Ensure all areas of the restaurant areas are clean and properly sanitized, maintaining all health code standards
  • Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order
  • Observes daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the bar; makes recommendations for corrections, maintenance items and improvements as needed
  • Process cash and credit card transactions following appropriate procedures, ensuring accurate cash handling and management
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations by obtaining an operator license
  • Knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, and mixed cocktails
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and cost control
  • Attention to detail and service standards
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently
